Faith - Queen of the Wanderers, Queen of the Underground, a Minthesana blessed with all powers - has ruled the fabulous, magical world beneath our earth with a fair, peaceful regime for almost 2 years. All the people are behind her, especially her partner Gil. What only he knows, however, is that Faith has been plagued by strange dreams whose meaning is difficult to guess. Even if everything seems to be unfounded, she gets more and more scared. As Gil and she head back to their upper world, as almost all wanderers do on a daily basis, the underground seems to shut down for the first time in 2 years. Gil is apparently lost, and Faith sets out with a strange woman named Linnea to search. They end up in a completely different, completely alien world, which consists of underground passages, caves and labyrinths. There, they seem to be held captive by twisted warriors who call themselves the elite and are pursuing a perfidious plan involving the Underground. As if that weren't enough, a stranger named Harry turns Faith's head and threatens that she will lose not only her magical powers but also her boyfriend Gil. In order to save what can still be saved, Faith accepts the challenge and embarks on a strange game of life and death with the warriors of the elite... The second volume in the urban fantasy series THE UNDERGROUND WARS penned by Elias J. Connor and Bloody Rose combines romance with exciting dark fantasy elements.

Chapter 1 - Don't dream your life

What the hell is going on? I know for a fact that I've been walking down this monotonous corridor for hours with no idea where I'm going. I know for a fact that nothing has changed here for hours - the same walls, the same carved houses and fragments jutting out of the rocks, and the same little Ewoks, as I always call these peculiar creatures that live here.

And yet it seems to me that a new picture emerges every second. A new place I'm in right now. As soon as I think I've understood something, a new mystery suddenly opens up. And I always have this urge to have to solve it.

This narrow, Underground passage has been with me for hours. It is a path in the middle of a cave, and left and right are windows and doors carved in stone. The walls are made entirely of stone, like everything else here. Wet and cold clay floor and clay walls, formed into an Underground labyrinth.

I just got here. I do not know how. But I feel I've been here for hours.

I look impatiently at the windows. It's pretty dark here, and the mist that fills this cave is the only thing that casts any light. Its shimmer shines dull. But it's still dark in every one of those windows no one here to ask what the fuck is going on.

Suddenly I hear that familiar squeak again. I know what that is. I know who they are. And they're watching me.

"Hey, you horned oxen. Come out and talk to me, I call into the silence, whereupon this squeak interrupts itself at the same time.

I hold my breath

Quiet. It's very quiet now.

"Hello," I call.

The sound of my voice echoes once or twice, but then it also stops.

Suddenly a shadow flits past me. Ha, I'm faster now, I think to myself.

I stretch out my arm and get something to grab. When I'm sure I've got it, I yank it to the ground and throw myself at whatever it is.

I hear panting, rapid breathing.

I look at the almost 90 centimeters tall creature that lies below me. Its eyes are large, its head resembles that of a rat or a wolfhound, but the creature doesn't look dangerous at all.

"Now you can't escape me anymore," I whisper to him angrily."You tell me right now who you and your cronies are and what you want from me."

The creature trembles. It seems afraid. Fluid forms in his eyes. Great, now the gnome starts to cry. Man, why do I always have to feel sorry for myself when I see something like this.

"So?" I try to be a bit calmer."Will you now tell me where I am and what I am supposed to do here?"

"Faith," the creature stutters."Faith Nawroth."

I huff in annoyance and step off the gnome.

"I know who I am," I tell him."Faith Nawroth from Los Angeles, California."

He gets to his feet and looks at me anxiously.

"We're not getting anywhere like this," I realize."Just tell me how to get out of here, okay? Then I don't care what this place is or what you want from me."

"Faith," the creature says calmly.

Suddenly, two more gnomes arrive. You're exactly the same as this one.

"Faith," they say over and over again."Faith. Faith."

Suddenly ten or twelve of them have to stand around here and surround me.

"Faith! Faith! Faith! they shout.

"Yeah man," I scream."I know my name."

"Leave her alone," the voice of a young girl suddenly joins the calls of these strange creatures.

Suddenly they fall silent.

I turn around.

My whole body is trembling. Even if the faint glow of the fog allows only a shadow outline - I recognize exactly who she is.

"Laura?" I say softly.

The gnomes scurry away, scattering to the four winds.

I look at the approximately 14-year-old dark blonde girl. Her eyes look kindly at me and she has a smile on her face. But I can feel that she is shaking, as am I.

"It's been a long time, Faith," Laura tells me.

"I know," I reply, taking a few steps towards her.

"Laura... how is that possible?" I want to know.

she just looks at me Without a word, she takes my hand and leads me into a small room that suddenly
