Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is now also a recognized disorder in adult psychiatry. Treatment for the condition in adults requires a therapeutic approach different from that in children and adolescents. This book presents important new research findings, on the basis of which both basic knowledge about ADHD and special aspects, such as comorbidities with addictive disorders and autism spectrum disorders, are described. In addition to treatment strategies, frequently accompanying phenomena such as creativity and delinquency are addressed. This second edition provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of knowledge around ADHD.

Prof. Martin D. Ohlmeier, a specialist in neurology, psychiatry, and psychotherapy, is the founder of the ADHD Outpatient Department in Hannover Medical School and was its Director for many years. Since 2008, he has been Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Kassel Hospital. Mandy Roy, MD, a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy and long-standing employee of Hannover Medical School, is a senior physician in the Department of Dependence Disorders at the Asklepios Klinik in Hamburg-Ochsenzoll.
