Between staying in character and defying his fate as fodder, Zil finds that he has a mountain of things that needs to be addressed. His trip to the Magic Republic of Magia should have ticked a few items off his to-do list. However, the sudden appearance of the Evangelist-a mysterious character who never appeared in the anime-leaves him with more questions than answers. And if that wasn't enough, Zil and his growing mass of followers have drawn the attention of another character who identifies them as a potential threat: the Dragon Emperor. Though the Dragon Emperor dreams of one day ruling the world, Zil has no intention of backing down. The time has come to show everyone just how fearsome part one's final boss and main villains truly are...and Zil will start by making an example of the Dragon Emperor and his people.

Chapter 1: The Advent of the Evangelist

“Come on. Show me what you’ve got!”

A red-haired young man stood before me with a bold and arrogant grin. Sheer darkness oozed from his figure, dwarfing that of the earlier Top Vassal. His presence was marked by a pressure that weighed heavily on the world itself. The word “transcendent” seemed to fit him to a T.

And even though chances were slim regardless, he didn’t seem like an OC—at least not the type who had any canon knowledge. That was assuming he wasn’t putting on an act or anything.

With all this in mind, I concluded, “You must be the Evangelist.”

“That I am. Ah, come to think of it, I haven’t introduced myself yet, have I? Sorry about that. Indeed, I am the Evangelist, the leader of the Vassals of the Overlord. That being said, those guys are simply pawns as I pursue my goal.”

The Evangelist was a mysterious character who had never made a single appearance in the anime. I had far too little information on him, if any at all.

He actually exists...? Fans speculated he wasn’t even real...

Because the Vassals of the Overlord turned out to be a crazy cult with the express purpose of being comedic relief, fans had theorized that their so-called Evang
