Annabell, Lara and Maya are"The three Girls" - best friends who plan to build a magical hut, just for fun, to see what happens. But the goddess of the forest thwarts their plan and opens a gateway to a hidden world. 210 years earlier, the explorer Alexander von Humboldt had inadvertently transported an invisible people, the Tamanaken, from the Orinoco across the ocean to his castle in Berlin, where they had built their new world. Plans and destinies converge in the Humboldt Grove. The showdown takes place at the Great Festival of Rachmakud, where a world rises that no one could have anticipated. Mysterious. Intertwined. Astonishing.

Henry Landers was born and grew up in Berlin. As a photographic artist, he traveled the world and gathered impressions from many cultures, which now influence his works. Writing, however, opened the door to a world full of stories in a way that photography never could. He loves to walk through Humboldt Grove every morning, which led him to discover the three main characters and the fantastic world of the Tamanaks - and, incidentally, to establish a connection to Alexander von Humboldt.

»Laaaaaraaaa!«, she shouted as loud as she could, releasing the tension of the morning’s argument from her heart.

Lara stopped and came towards the house entrance. Annabell pushed open the door, jumped down the next few steps, past the empty flower box, towards Lara. They both jumped up and down and hugged each other, even kissing three times, as they had seen the grown-ups do.

»Are you excited to see what happens when we’ve built the magic hut?«, asked Lara.

»You bet, are you?«

»Totally and how.«

»Hopefully, no stupid planet will come and crash into Earth.«

They walked in the direction of Maya’s house.

»Look, up there«, Lara pointed to a window on the second floor of house number 22. They both giggled. There was a model of a spaceship on the windowsill, pinned like a butterfly in a natural history museum.

»Boys seem to think impaling things is cool«, said Annabell.

»Yeah, it’s really crazy what they do«, Lara replied ambiguously. Neither of them could hold back and burst out laughing.

»Come on, let’s take this thing with us, and when t
