Have you found happiness in your life?
John Izzo wrote in his highly insightful and wise book"The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die" about three questions that you consistently and continuously need to ask yourself. These three questions mean something and give you a direct answer if you are true to yourself, if you live by your own values. The three questions are:
1."Am I following my heart and true to myself?"
2."Is my life focused on the things that truly matter to me?"
3."Am I the person I want to be in the world?"
What are your answers? Yes or no?
1. ___________
2. ___________
3. ___________
In the fantastic movie"Bucket List", a story is told about how those who died long ago in Egypt were asked two questions when they stood before the gods. If they couldn't answer yes to both questions, they had to return to earth and live their lives again.
The questions they were asked were:
1. Have you found happiness in your life?
2. Has your life brought happiness to others?
Here are three questions from me:
1.What are your answers to these two questions today?
1) ____________
2) ____________
2. What can you do/change, how can you challenge yourself and your current truths to answer"Yes" to these two questions?
3. When will you start?
The day you answer"Yes" to both questions, you know that you are masterfully managing your responsibility for your life.
You are grateful, generous, humble and responsible in life. The way you live allows you to feel harmony and freedom.
What is actually required to rest in peace? Since we do not have a guidebook or a clear answer as to what happens on the day we pass away, it is every individual's personal responsibility and freedom to find their own way in life.
- Are you walking on the right path in your life?
- What must you change to feel good?
- What are your guidelines, your values, and your ambitions?
- Do you have scheduled plans for what you want to achieve?
Live independently of others' opinions.
The Chinese philosophy of Tao or Tao te Ching, is the most published text after the Bible. Tao's teachings suggest that in order to thrive on this earth, you need to live by 81 writings. Psychologist Wayne W Dyer has written a fantastic book on the subject called"Change your thoughts - change your life", where he breaks down these 81 writings into an insightful book by providing examples of how to apply Tao's teachings in today's modern society.
In Chapter 60, Dr. Dyer emphasizes that it is essential to live independently of both positive and negative opinions from others, regardless of whether those people love or hate us.
We become easily influenced by others when we prioritize their opinions over our own.
The question of responsibility over your own life is crucial
Who or what...
- taught you to breathe?
- taught your brain to think?
- taught your heart to beat?
- taught your immune system to protect you?
- taught your body to produce blood cells?
- taught your body to repair itself from sickness and accidents?
- taught you to see, smell, and feel?
Answer: You learned automatically how to do all of these functions on your own.
The amazing construction of your body makes sure that all essential functions proceed without any external help.
Ultimately, the result of your life lies in your hands – not someone else’s.
Where you are in your personal and professional life today is your responsibility. Where you will be and how you will feel tomorrow, next month, in three years, or in fifteen years is also your responsibility.
"Other people can influence your thoughts and health, butyou decide how much they affect you.”
Niclas Timmerby
Listen to advice from others, but do not let them overshadow your values if it does not feel right for you.
If someone makes you happy, tell them. If someone bullies or hurts you, speak up and say that it is not okay, that you feel upset and bullied.
When other people influence you to abandon or change your values, you are living your life based on other people's influence. However, if you become more aware of it while
