In June 1967 the Canadian National Commission for Unesco and the Université de Moncton jointly sponsored an international seminar on bilingualism.The report shows that the interdisciplinary discussions carried on at Moncton were fruitful andthat significant questions about bilingualism were raised.

L uis G. Kelly retired from the University of Ottawa, Canada, in June 1996, where he held a joint appointment as Professor in the Departments of Classics and Linguistics. He is now attached to Darwin College in the University of Cambridge.
