The book deals with three poems of theCorpus Theocriteum:Idyll20 (Boukoliskos), 21 (Fishermen) und 27 (Love dialogue), which have been discussed in previous research almost exclusively from the viewpoint of questioning their authenticity. Detached from this problem, Robert Kirstein undertakes a linguistic, conceptual and composition-technical examination, highlights the points of contact of these poems with other poems in theCorpus Theocriteumas well as their relationship to the Theocritean‘Bucolics 17;, and challenges the previous literary-aesthetic appraisal factors.
