Capitalism is becoming increasingly global, with the dominance of multinational companies creating a large-scale reliance on subsidiaries. Sandvik's study looks at the Falconbridge nickel refinery in Kristiansand, Norway - a subsidiary of Canadian company Falconbridge Mines.
