Inwieweit haben diese öffentlichen Debatten Einfluss auf politische Steuerung wissenschaftlicher Entwicklung? An Deutschland und Großbritannien zeigt die Autorin, dass der Ausweitung »bioethischer« öffentlicher Debatten nicht notwendigerweise eine Demokratisierung der Forschungspolitik folgt.
